HTC 8X and HTC 8s Windows Phone 8 devices

After Samsung announced the Ativ S in IFA and Nokia came up with its new flagship Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, HTC is next to join the Windows PH 8 band and has revealed the first two of its windows PH 8 devices- the HTC 8X and HTC 8s. Read on as I give you a short summary of their features and design and also their availability and pricing related information.

HTC 8X- HTC 8X is a high-end device and would be the new Windows PH8 flagship of HTC. Its a beautiful looking and aesthetically pleasing smartphone. It boasts a 4.3-inch display with resolution of 720p. Under the hood is 1.5 GHZ dual core Snapdragon S4 processor and 1 GB of RAM. However what disappoints is the absence of an microSD card slot especially with internal memory of only 16GB.

It has a 8MP rear camera exactly similar to the sensor in HTC ONE X and can record 1080p full HD videos. 2.1 MP front camera with f/2.0 lens and ability to record 1080p HD videos is also a valuable addition. Beats Audio also make their debut on windows PH platform with these device. An built-in amplifier for audio enhancement is a welcome feature for all music lovers.

All these goodies are packed in a polycarbonate body, which though measures 10.6 mm thick, feels much thinner and lot more premium than Lumia 920. The device would be hitting the markets in early November this year and would sell contract-free for £399.

HTC 8s: HTC 8s is mid-range device ad would compete directly with HTC ONE V and Sony Xperia U. The device has a 4-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 800X480 pixels. It has the a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5 GHZ but has only 512 MB of RAM. Also the the rear camera is only 5MP shooter. The front camera is a wide-angle 2.1 MP shooter. What's surprising is that there is a microSD card slot included which allows users to increase storage from internal 4GB to 32 GB- a luxury not present even in its big bro 8X.

All these is packed inside a polycarbonate shell which is 10.3mm thick yet rounded edges make it feel much more thin. It would hit the markets early November and would be available for £225.
